Things NOT to do in that situation:
1) entice them to go to sleep by bribing them with chocolate
2) scare then into sleeping by making wild or other predatory animal noises outside their room (e.g. wolf, bear, lion, tiger)
3) entering their room acting like a zombie…
Trust me, it only makes the crying worse…
